My passion for baking started when I was young. I remember every Sunday, excited for my favorite dessert show to come on. Dessert Circus with Jacques Torres opened my eyes to the baking world, amazing me with the various technique and final product. I vividly remember the first episode I watched, where he made a cake to resemble an armadillo. After that, I knew that I wanted to learn more.

I was able to start my studies in high school, and then obtain a scholarship to The Culinary Institute of America. Unfortunately, I lost the scholarship, but I did not let that stop me. It wasn’t easy, but my determination not only got me an Associate’s degree in Baking and Pastries, but also a Bachelor’s degree in Baking and Pastry Arts Management.

 After graduating, I moved back to DC where I worked several places honing my skills.  For me, my love of baking has kept me in the industry. At the time it is my stressor, but will always remain my stress releasor, and interacting with the customers to create something special for them is the most gratifying aspect. It brings me back to the excitement I felt first coming across Dessert Circus.
